About Me

Carmel Delshad

I am a recent graduate of The University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. I obtained a bachelor's of arts in magazine journalism with a minor in English Literature. As an Honors College student, I also presented research on social networking in various academic conferences and colloquia.

I have embraced multimedia journalism whole-heartedly throughout my collegiate career. Courses like multimedia journalism, where my class worked with The Tampa Tribune and WFLA-TV Ch. 8, as well as an internship at WUSF 89.7 FM, have helped to broaden my multimedia skills.

I am of Middle-Eastern descent and I hold my culture very close to my heart. I also am fluent in Arabic, mainly the Egyptian dialect, as a result of my upbringing. I hope to fuse my love of the Middle East and my passion for writing into a career, but I am certainly able to cover stories outside of this range.

Currently, I am a master's student at the City University of New York's Graduate School of Journalism, where I am studying International Reporting.
